RAITOHANTA moves between photography and graphic form. Based in Warsaw, working with people, objects and places that carry their own weight.
Over 10 years of playing with light taught me one thing: the perfect photograph doesn't exist... only the true one. I work with grain, shadow and flaw, because character hides in them, not in retouching. Portrait, object, space, editorial... for me it's the same conversation held in a different language... what remains when you take off the mask?
I'm not guided by whether a photograph is pretty. I make work that unsettles you at first. Then you can't stop looking.
